What:

We’re excited to introduce one of our latest features: Compose Impact of Disability! This standalone feature provides users with a streamlined way to access impact of disability statements, offering a more efficient method for drafting and editing comprehensive IEPs.

Why:

Compose Impact of Disability offers a fresh approach to creating Impact Statements that is decoupled from the Present Levels Wizard production process. This is ideal if you are making an addendum to an IEP or just looking for quick inspiration. It allows you to immediately draft impact statements without navigating through present levels content. This means quicker access to essential information, saving you time.

How:

Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to use Compose Impact of Disability:

  1. Access the Feature: Click on “Compose Impact of Disability” from the Present Levels Card on the homepage or navigation bar under instructional design tools.
  2. Enter Student Details: Select the student’s disability, subject, and impact area(s) in the wizard modal.
  3. Customize the Statement: Review the generated statement and make any necessary edits.
  4. Copy the Statement: Copy the finalized statement for use in your IEP document or other platforms.
  5. Explore and Experiment: Experiment with different combinations to tailor the statement to your student’s needs and explore the flexibility of the feature.

What makes this different from the Present Levels Wizard is teachers arent constrained to the multi-step process of developing present levels to surface impact of disability statements at the very end. After submitting minimal student information, you get a single statement experience that allows you to select reading, writing, math, or other areas and receive a concise statement.

If you are solely focused on writing impact statements, Compose Impact of Disability offers a more accessible and user-friendly experience. It streamlines the process and gives you the freedom to explore options without committing to a Present Levels Statement.

While Compose Impact of Disability offers a convenient way to draft impact statements, it’s important to note that the Present Levels Wizard remains a valuable resource for users drafting both present level and impact disability statements. Depending on your specific needs and preferences, choose the method that best suits each situation.
