We are excited to announce the newest content area in Goalbook Toolkit: Social Studies! We’ve added 23 social studies goals and progress monitoring assessments that span grades K-12.

These goals represent a huge step forward because so many of the teachers in our partner districts and schools have been requesting these goals for quite some time. This goal set addresses foundational skills that are connected to the social sciences but have broad application across other subject areas. Because this is the case, when you browse this new subject area you’ll notice that the goals span a broad range of content standards including:

  • Reading informational texts
  • College and career readiness
  • Language
  • Reading literature
  • Writing

We understand that every one of your students is unique, and as such, their IEPs should reflect that uniqueness. These goals are aligned to critical processes, so you’ll able to assess specific skills like…

…Making inferences about historical events

…Developing a historical point of view

…Analyzing graphs and charts

And many other critical skills that happen to be nested within this social studies content. These are skills for students to use long-term and are valuable for social-emotional connections and academic advancement. With this collection of customizable goals, spanning grades K -12, you’ll now have an invaluable tool at your fingertips to streamline the process of crafting IEPs that truly address all your students’ needs and abilities.
