Check it out!

The release of the Progress Monitoring Strategy Page is a shift toward understanding how to deliver a strong progress monitoring feature that is integrated into our core product features.

Our goal is to support teachers at every step of a students progress toward achieving their goals. From identifying present levels, to drafting actionable goals, to delivering assessment and strategically monitoring progress towards those goals.

The Challenge of Progress Monitoring

Using a progress monitoring data tracking sheets is critical for students if we are going to push them towards achieving their goals. The challenge is these tracking sheets need to be specific to students yet also easily shared amongst a team. Many teachers create their own or modify a version shared with them by a colleague; problems arise when the tracking sheets aren’t agreed upon, understood, or accessible across teams. Additionally, if these tracking sheets are missing critical structural elements then the data captured on them may not be actionable.

There are various layouts to choose from that serve various purposes and they are fully customizable.

Depending on the specifics of a student goal, a tracking sheet may need any or all of these elements:

  • Space for the goal
  • Date/time
  • Score
  • Notes section
  • Objective(s) section
  • Time Trials Section
  • Multiple Trials Section

Fortunately our Progress Monitoring Strategy Page has printable tracking sheets that include those elements and more.

How does the page help with progress monitoring?

The new Progress Monitoring Strategy Page serves two functions. The first is to act as a professional development tool that clearly defines best practice around progress monitoring. The second is to provide printable resources that aid teachers in the process of gathering and analyzing data to determine the effectiveness of instructional practices.

All of the elements that a tracking sheet needs are prominent and present on all of the tracking sheets available on the strategy page.

Our hope is that these resources will be used to inform strategic changes in instruction that will push students towards their individual goals. The Strategy Page has tracking sheets that help teams do this in three strategic ways:

  • The strategy page itself serves as a shared virtual space where teachers can access the same progress monitoring sheet whenever they need them.
  • It offers a plethora of printable tracking sheet options to choose from so teachers and can tightly match tracking sheets to specific goals.
  • All the tracking sheets are designed to be easily understood with all the necessary elements prominently displayed.

As we work with our partner schools and districts we will continue to build out this feature to best serve the needs of the students they are meant for.
