Present Level’s statements are the foundation of an IEP. For this reason, it’s important that they are accurate, clear, and truly capture a student’s strengths, areas of need, and the impact of their disabilities.

A highly requested feature change within the Present Levels Wizard in Goalbook Toolkit was the ability to select more than one specific learning disability while generating statements. Teachers can now select multiple specific learning disabilities in the present levels wizard.

The categories in the Specific Learning Disability section that teachers can choose one or more of are Auditory Processing, Visual Perception Processing, Visual-Motor Processing, Attention (a.k.a. Processing Speed, Short-Term Memory), Cognitive Conceptualization (a.k.a. Fluid Reasoning), Cognitive Association ( a.k.a. Crystalized Intelligence), Cognitive Expression, and Other.

This means teachers no longer have to go through the process of generating statements more than once to copy and paste into their IEPs. This small but important change ensures that we can capture the uniqueness of each student and optimize the planning process.

“I can look specifically at the impact of disability statements for a student and it helps me find strategies connected to those needs.” — 4th and 5th Grade Special Educator
