Silk Displays Poised for Next Phase of Development with Additions to Management and Board of Directors

Montreal, May 3, 2007 — Silk Displays, a pioneer in the development of flexible plastics with embedded intelligence for liquid crystal displays and other applications, has appointed a new president and CEO and a new member of its board of directors in preparation for the next phase of development and financing. High technology executive Dr. Richard A. Simon will take the helm of the company, and Dr. Haviland Wright, a veteran display executive, will join Silk Displays’ board of directors. The company is planning a series A financing round for September 2007.

“The appointment of these two industry veterans is a strong addition to an already solid management team,” Chris Arsenault, partner at MSBi Capital said. “Silk Displays is putting the infrastructure in place to forge ahead with its innovations in Smart Plastic technology. It has the expertise and the intellectual property required to do so, and now it is solidifying its leadership base.”

Dr. Simon has a 30-year track record in high technology leadership, product development and executive management. He has worked with major players in the engineering and aerospace sectors, such as Lockheed Martin, Boeing and L-3Comm Systems and with a diverse range of technologies, from solid state physics through complex real-time systems. Dr. Simon takes over from Paul Higgins, one of the company’s founders, who will assume responsibilities as Silk Displays’ vice-president, business development.

Dr. Wright joins Silk Displays’ board, bringing with him over 30 years’ experience in high tech, including as chairman and CEO of Colorado’s Displaytech. He currently sits on the boards of a number of companies, including Elixir Technologies Corporation and Nano Loa Inc., a Japanese display company. Dr. Wright has a deep understanding of the display industry, extensive knowledge of the Asian business environment and will be a major asset to the company’s board.

Silk Displays’ organizational changes are part of its overall strategy to bring to market its innovations in flexible plastic materials with embedded electronic, optical and barrier functionalities. The company is initially targeting the $75 billion liquid crystal display market.
