Humans have a curious relationship with the new. We seek novelty but, at the same time, we’re scared of it. That’s why we don’t provide new tools for writers and publishers.

Old tools work better. Actually, we provide fancy graphics for flagship publications, but not for independent publications. They could not be able to handle them, and we think about the good of the independent editors. One can get hurt, by pressing strange buttons.

But, of course, we care primarily about the readers. So, we don’t provide new tools for them too. The current reading list, for example, is already so functional. With the absolute and intentional lack of categorization, prioritization, or search. So minimalist. Less than that, there’s just nothing.

I don’t even use it, to be more minimalist.

From this perspective, I’m just thinking about raising the subscription fee. We provide too much tech value.

Coming back to the “new” topic, people are scared of the new, but they also want it. So, we need to intercept this need. That’s real progress. But nobody invents nothing. So, I had an idea.

Let’s resurrect the New Age movement. But dress it with politics, news, pop science, funky psychology, neuro-psychedelia, and the wildest North-western dreams and fears. All stuffed in a lot of newsletters, of course.

The new and the old together for you, my dear readers. You’ll beg me to raise the fee.

We’ll plunge deep in the insanity of the new. With the comforting taste of the old.

I’m sure you’ll put all that content in your reading list.

Happy reading!
