The Michigan Democratic Party (MDP) wanted to encourage more registered voters to participate in the upcoming election. Specifically, they wanted to uncover and engage lapsed voters (registered voters who have not voted recently) in Michigan.

The MDP felt dissatisfied with the traditional resources available to them, such as postal mail and voice telephone. In an increasingly digital world, these tools were becoming less effective in igniting action.

They engaged Dandelion to establish a digital communication channel for voters to encourage their neighbors to vote.

How Dandelion Helped

Dandelion built and deployed MIWinMachine, an online platform which allowed users to search the area near their address for lapsed voters. Users could them send a personalized message through the platform to their neighbors, encouraging them to go to the polls in the next election. Our team ensured that the privacy of recipients was preserved, and no actual contact information was delivered through the platform.
