Four Reasons Why Your Business Needs A Strong Social Media Presence

As a business owner, especially in sectors that have no “direct link” with the millennials like law firms, oil and gas, and lots more, you may be “tricked” to think that social media shouldn’t necessarily be a thing for your business. A few years ago, this may be fairly true but not in this day, missing out may be your biggest business mistake — You can ask your favourite teenage cousin who has dreams of becoming a lawyer and currently follows her favourite legal shows and conversations on twitter and youtube or a business owner who’s currently Googling the topic or asking in a forum for help about business partnership. Now imagine you had content out there that answers their question.

If you do a simple search, you’d find simple facts like LYFE Marketing’s report that, Facebook, Facebook Messenger and Instagram are the top three most profitable social media sites and if utilized well can help position your business to help you reach your target audience and be seen by them when they enquire about services or products that you offer.

If you already do social media for your brand and don’t seem to be getting results, well there’s your problem — don’t just do social, you have to be social.

Aside from the fact that your biggest competition is aggressively creating tons of content to gain the trust of your target audience, there are many reasons why your business needs to be actively present on social media. Here are my four favourite picks.

  1. LEAD GENERATION

Social media is extremely useful in generating leads for your business. When using social media for lead generation you can promote gated content by sharing a link to a landing page where potential readers provide information before gaining access to that particular content. That way, you can reach out to them with new information about your brand.

We also have Facebook and Instagram lead generation ads which also allows the audience to shop.

2. Search Engine Visibility

Increasing traffic and user engagement is another major goal for businesses. although having a killer content strategy is a very important factor when it comes to your search engine ranking, a strong online presence can make this happen, when your prospects are able to find you on the internet with ease. Social media helps you dominate the first search result page in a more natural and engaging way.

And a lot of times, this can be as simple as re-sharing an amazing content, you can also use the story platform to share tips and more on your page. here is a recommendation via The Content Factory- they recommend that each post be re-shared once a month. with scheduling tools like Hootsuite, Buffer and the likes, this can be done with ease.

3. Building Brand Trust

The more your social media presence, the more trust your customers/clients have in you. when engaging the public on social media, you are building a connection. Social media helps you get involved with the audience by providing your followers with useful information and entertainment.

This would show your customers that you value them, not just as a source of revenue but as people. Be it online or offline your customers would want to purchase the items or services from you. which would make a huge difference in a competitive market.

4. Gain Real Time Customer Insights & Behaviour

when you understand your customers, you can write better content and more interesting post which can lead to more traffic. Part of what makes social channels like Twitter and Instagram effective marketing tools is the interaction you have with your customer base. By constantly interacting with followers, brandsl gain insights into their daily lives and consumer behaviours, and answer questions such as:

  1. What products are they buying and why?

2. What they love to do

3. What kinds of posts do they like to see and share?

4. What websites do they visit?

These insights have great marketing benefits. And these benefits can sometimes go far beyond marketing, helping you identify customer’s pressure points, improve sales conversions and even refine your product strategy.
