PM Modi invited to address joint meeting of US Congress June 8

Speaker of the US House of Representative Paul Ryan said today that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been invited to address a joint meeting of the US Congress on June 8, 2016.
“This address presents a special opportunity to hear from the elected leader of the world’s most populous democracy on how our two nations can work together to promote our shared values and to increase prosperity. We look forward to welcoming Prime Minister Modi to the US Capitol on June 8,” Ryan said.
PM Modi will be the 5th Indian Prime Minister to address a joint meeting of the US Congress, following Manmohan Singh in July 2005, AB Vajpayee in Sept 2000, PV Narasimha Rao in May 1994 and Rajiv Gandhi in July 1985.
