Chatbots & KIN — A Deadly Combination of AI and Crypto

Now, let’s take a real use case and see how it gets benefit by using KIN for a digital service.

We will look into a chatbot called “Big BroBot”.

Before going deep into using KIN in chatbot.

Let’s have a quick look about this bot,

A chatbot which is primarily build to promote Big Brother show in US, which is currently airing on CBS Television.

Let’s look at some details about the show “Celebrity Big Brother”,

  1. It is a “Reality” TV show similar to “Big Boss”.
  2. Airs every Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays at 8/7c on CBS and CBS All Access.
  3. Total 13 Episodes on Season 1, started at February 7, 2018 and ends at February 25, 2018.
  4. 5 Million viewers on average per episode.
  5. Voting happens every week to eliminate a house guest from the show.

Now, we have discussed about the bot and the TV show. Let’s have a look at how KIN can be used for monetization.

Note: CBS has not integrated KIN into chatbot. Its just an example.

Lets design how much the earning and spending should be,

Assumptions:

  1. Bot rewards 3,000 KIN for each correct answer, for weekly quiz, with 5 correct answers, viewer would get 15,000 KIN.
  2. 1,000 KIN for signing up free in to CBS website. CBS is similar to Netflix or Amazon Prime, a video delivery service.
  3. Monthly subscription on CBS costs 5.99$, Roughly 20,000 KIN.
  4. Vote for favorite guests costs and best caption costs 1000 KIN.

Execution:

Earning:

5 Million user participating for weekly quiz, each viewer answers 3 questions correctly on average will result in,

Awarding 5 Million * 9,000 KIN= 45,000,000,000 KIN or 45 Billion KIN which is 13.5M USD in terms of volume with current price at 0.0003 USD.

Spending:

Each user spends 9000 + 1000 KIN for 15 days subscription, will result in,

5 Million * 10,000 Kin = 50 Billion KIN which is 15M USD in terms of volume with current price at 0.0003 USD.

“Just with one bot and for one show and for only one week, total volume is 28.5M USD”.

Note: For simplicity, I didn’t consider the transactions on voting process which happens every week on finding their favorite House guest and caption.

On total the business or the digital service spends roughly, 15 Million USD to acquire 5 Million users for their on demand video service, which costs 3$ per user.

On average, Netflix spends 45$ per user.

The digital service can choose to limit the rewards and spend just 1.5 Million USD to acquire 500K viewers for their video on-demand service and to promote their show. Above numbers used are for example purpose only.

Why would a digital service do this ?

  1. Revenue growth due to monthly subscriptions.
  2. Free promos for other in house TV shows.
  3. Popularity of the TV show increases and viewers tend to watch further seasons or it can be cross promotion for other shows.
  4. When the user spends KIN on subscriptions, the digital service can reuse the KIN to reward back, because KIN value appreciates as against to USD due to its fixed supply.

Ok, that being said, why should they use KIN a cryptocurrency ?

Why not a points based rewards or any other cryptocurrency ?

  1. KIN value grows in time due to the demand raises from this and all other digital services which uses KIN . And why that happens ? Read second point.
  2. Kin Rewards Engine payouts — KRE rewards KIN to the digital services based on the number of transactions happens on their app. Further, the payouts can be used to acquire more user or cash out some for $$.
