Friday, October 28th may not be forgotten by all of us, especially Indonesian. We are really devastated by the major earthquake followed by the tsunami that hit Palu and Donggala. There are newborn babies that separated from their mother, children that cry loud to find the families, and many miserable things going on.

Few minutes after the disaster happened, Indonesian show solidarity altogether for people in Palu and Donggala.

ACT, a humanitarian organization is the first organization that came up to create an online crowdfunding page at Kitabisa right after the disaster happened.

They create a page on Friday (28/9) at 20:38 PM which initiates the other organization, individuals or even groups creating hundreds crowdfunding pages, thousands of #OrangBaik (re: we called our dearest user as #OrangBaik, in English it means kind people) to donate, and donation kept increasing ever since.

From Influencers, Selebgram, and Private Sectors Collaborate to Help

West Java Governor, Ridwan Kamil also inform this devastating news to his followers on Instagram and also ask them to help.

He also encourages his followers and west java people to help the victims by donating their money on the campaign that he made and just launched. The campaign itself just raised around 1,8 billion and then has already begun to distribute.

Instagram also an effective social media platform for celebrities in raising public awareness for helping the victims.

Online to Offline — Concert to Kpop Dance

Starting from solidarity that gathered on the online platform, the various initiative for offline activities appears such as concert and kpop dance gathering. Not just ordinary offline activities, but we are more happy to call it as #OrangBaik meet up (or we called in Kopi Darat in Bahasa).

Clean Water from Raisa and Various Purposes

Raisa, one of well-known diva in Indonesia, also takes part in helping victims. She updates the initiation through her Instagram stories on Thursday (4/10) which generates 47 million in just few hours.

120 Seconds Across Thousand Kilometre

In a certain moment, we do realize that every people want to help. But, not all people help certain skills in certain condition, especially in disaster location. We do believe that skill or even location can not limit their kindness.

Campaign pages that Palu related already seen by thousands of people who located in different places across Indonesia. It’s also surprising that the majority donor came from the urban and big city which prove to us that people in the urban city is not that selfish. Instead, they are showing limitless kindness that they have.

Thank you #OrangBaik
