Nothing says you have to like any particular artist or their art, but some people who want to act like Taylor Swift is a talentless hack and a creature invented by the music industry are just so entirely out of touch with verifiable reality that it kind of boggles the mind. I could speculate about why some people, most of them white men it seems, feel threatened by her, but instead, I’ll just tell you what some of the biggest stars in the business have to say about Swift as an artist, an advocate for other artists, and as a human being.

Foo Fighters frontman, Dave Grohl tells the story of being at Paul McCartney’s house for a gathering and being asked to play something. He doesn’t play the piano and all the guitars were left-handed. On top of that, he claims to have been pretty high at the time, and as he’s floundering around, trying to figure out how to save the moment, Taylor Swift jumps in and offers to play something. Grohl was so relieved and then touched when he realized she was playing Best of You, one of his band’s biggest hits.

“She really saved my ass,” he said.
