We’ll admit that when Corrie decided to pair up Gemma and Chesney romantically, we were sceptical. They were already so great together as friends — and was safe and dependable Chesney really going to be able to tame a woman as wild as Gemma? We didn’t think so.
As it happens, we were totally missing the point. It doesn’t matter whether Ches and Gemma are at it like rabbits or bickering till the cows come home over how totally incompatible they are. Either way, they are so bloomin’ hilarious together — and stars Dolly-Rose Campbell and Sam Aston are well on their way to securing a spot in the Corrie Hall of Fame for Awesome Double Acts.
Now two look set to become six, with the news that Gemma is expecting quadruplets. Yes, four babies! The moment they found out was classic Corrie, and the rest of Gemma’s journey as a mum-to-be promises to keep us giggling all the way until Christmas.
Yes, we have just dropped the C-bomb. A) Because we’re totally betting our turkey dinners on those bubbas arriving just in time for at least one of them to play a starring role in the Street’s Natavity performance this year, and B) because Ches, Gemma and their darling offspring promise to be the gifts that keep on giving!
