Portfolio News
Following the announcement of a €7.3 million seed round a few weeks ago, Handelsblatt travelled to Dresden to visit our portfolio company SEMRON and has now published a comprehensive, in-depth analysis of its chip technology.
SEMRON is at the forefront of a new era of AI computing and is one of the most promising in-memory computing companies out there, enabling GenAI in the smallest devices, from smartphones to earbuds to VR glasses.
Our portfolio C1 company just hit a massive milestone: For the first time worldwide, the company has run a homogeneous methanol catalysis process continuously without operator intervention for a duration of 20 days on end in its “C1 alpha”!
Compared to traditional methanol production, C1 now achieves a proven single-pass efficiency that is about 5x higher, while temperature and pressure can be reduced by more than 50%.
The team hereby sets a new standard in green methanol production, proving the advantages of the patented C1 catalysis and the predictive power of quantum chemical simulation. Green methanol will play a key role in de-fossilizing the chemical industry and as an alternative fuel for shipping.
