Since our childhood we’ve heard about the story where the tortoise outruns the rabbit.

Do you think the tortoise won just because the rabbit slacked off or the turtle won because it kept pushing without comparing its speed and distance covered with the rabbit.

It doesn’t matter wither you had a good head start or not what matters is putting in the efforts that others are not willing to.

Microwave Mentality

The microwave mentality is the expectation of quick solutions and instant outcomes. One significant consequence of the microwave mentality is a diminished appreciation for the value of patience and perseverance.

Thanks to social media our attention span has decreased significantly leading us to lose interest easily and expecting instant results.

In order to become the tortoise, you’ll need to get rid of the microwave mentality.

Small but Steady

The journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step, start with small and achievable goals that can end up laying foundation for your end objective.

Identify your goals

Layout your plan

Execute your plan

Track your progress

Comparison

The most common trap where a lot of beginner's fall is comparing their results with the others who are already ahead of them.

Comparing your efforts with others who are already ahead of you will do nothing but create a feeling of inferiority and make you want to quit.

The tortoise couldn’t care about how far ahead the rabbit was neither should you. Compare your results with your previous performances in order identify the areas that need improvement.

Momentum

Staying consistent is not a sprint rather a marathon. Starting small is like planting the seed but staying steady is like the water that’ll allow it to grow.

Take working out as an example, for the first few days your muscles will be very sore, but as you start to gain that momentum the soreness will disappear plus, you’ll start noticing the benefits.

It will take efforts to gain momentum, but once you have it, it’ll boost your growth exponentially.

The Mirror

In order to determine your growth rate and keep reminding yourself of your goals, it is necessary to develop a habit that can help you keep check over that.

Regularly recording thoughts, emotions, and the outcomes of your actions allows you to create a tangible record of your journey.

In moments of self-doubt or when facing challenges, revisiting these reflections can serve as a powerful reminder of the distance you have traveled and the hurdles you overcame.

We all might not be the most talented or as some of us like to call “God Gifted” but is that a valid excuse to give up on your dreams?

Absolutely not, comparing your progress with the ones that are already ahead of you will do nothing but lower your self-esteem and eventually make you want to quit.

Just focus on yourself and gain that momentum you need to conquer your dreams.
