Apple Makes Major Investments in US Economy

Today Apple made a surprise announcement about future investments in the United States economy. While the news really seems to show that Apple is planning to repatriate their hundreds of billions of dollars in cash that’s overseas due to major corporate tax cuts made by the Trump administration, there’s a lot more within their press release. Apple highlighted three major figures including an estimated $350 billion contribution to the US economy over the next five years, $5 billion for an advanced manufacturing fund, and an estimated 20,000 jobs to be created. Apple plans to prepare students for a future in app development through investments in education. There are also plans for a new corporate campus in the US. While this is certainly news, it’s not that big of a deal considering the amount of campuses that Apple already has around the world.
