The Next Wave of Apple Software Will be Unveiled June 4th in San José

Earlier this week Apple announced the annual Worldwide Developers’ Conference for 2018. Like last year the conference will take place in San José. I fully expect to see iOS 12, watchOS 5, macOS 10.14, tvOS updates, and more. There are also rumors of new iPad Pros and updated MacBooks. I’m also holding out hope that we see a preview of the new Mac Pro.

I also want to make sure to note the curious design of the graphics for this year’s conference. They have much more depth and personality. The illustrations are mostly 3D interface components, rendered glass, and dimensional shapes. It’s very reminiscent of something Apple would have done pre-iOS 7. This begs the question: will we start to see a return to skeuomorphism this year? I hope so.
