watchOS 4.3 Brings a Bunch of Pleasant Surprises

Today Apple released new versions of watchOS, iOS, and tvOS. While iOS 11.3 is the biggest software release today, Apple Watch got what I would consider its most significant point release too. The new version of watchOS has been in beta alongside iOS 11.3, but it has been talked about much less. The release includes brand new watch face colors that match the new bands released earlier this week which were not present in the betas. watchOS 4 removed the ability to browse and play music from your iPhone on your Apple Watch, but it has been restored in watchOS 4.3. There’s a new portrait version of nightstand mode that includes a brand new charging animation. If you use the Siri face you’ll start seeing Activity cards as well as other things like notifications when new music is added your your Apple Music mixes. Additionally, HomePod owners now have deeper control over their speaker directly from their wrist. There are a few other small changes in watchOS 4.3 like a new app launch animation and a new Mac unlocking animation. The new version of watchOS is live now and I highly suggest updating your Apple Watch to it.
