How a Company of 50 Employees Makes a Big Impact in Its Community

At Logicbroker, our core values focus on innovation, balance, and GSD (getting stuff done). We believe it’s our social responsibility, as a corporation, to share these values with our community, while also encouraging and empowering our employees to find a cause they are passionate about. While we work hard at the office, it is just as important to be a productive member of our community to build a better tomorrow.

Though we hover just under 50 employees, we believe you don’t need to be big to have a big impact. In particular, we’ve aligned ourselves with charities and organizations that focus on education and mentorship coupled with wellness and active living.

For the past five years, we have both sponsored and mentored the Shelton Gaelhawks, FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Team 230. The FIRST mission is to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders and innovators through mentor-based programs. While building science, engineering, and technology skills, these programs also inspire innovation and foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership.

While we have a longstanding commitment to giving back, this year we formally launched our Gears Giving Back initiatives. Launched at our quarterly company update meeting — which is held after a day of teambuilding — it was a natural reflection of our belief in fostering the importance of working as a team while bettering our local community.

The Next Step

With the formal launch of Gears Giving Back, we’re moving on from our employees participating in 5Ks to support local charities to stepping up and sponsoring them. In October, we sponsored Shelton’s Crazy for Color run, where all proceeds support the Shelton High School DECA (Distributive Education Clubs of America) and FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) business and marketing student programs, as well as the Shelton Cross Country boys’ and girls’ athletes.

We’re also exploring a partnership with the Shelton Schools Mentoring Program, dedicated to changing the world one child at a time. Their mission aligns with our focus on educating and mentoring future generations of our workforce and community.

Further building off of our passion for wellness, we will be hosting our own Corporate Fun Run in 2020. Our goal is to encourage wellness within our community and raise funds to support our favorite charities.

We’re excited to share our community outreach initiatives, and challenge you to get involved in your community. It doesn’t matter if you have one, 50, and 5,000 employees; every hour spent volunteering, or every dollar fundraised, makes an impact.
