How Silverline Infuses Giving Back into its Corporate Culture

As Chief People Officer, I drive Silverline’s long- and short-term employee experience vision, ensuring alignment of talent and business strategies while supporting the employees and Silverline teams.

Silverline is a Salesforce Consulting Partner, combining strategic advisory, implementation, and managed services to its clients. Beyond our innovative work as consultants, we are also deeply rooted in volunteerism and giving back to local communities. Recently, I was fortunate to sit down and answer questions about how Silverline is transforming the world around us and creating positive impact.

Q: Could you tell me about Silverline’s core values?

Sure thing! This is such an important part of our culture. We pride ourselves on striving for unparalleled employee experience for all in-office and remote Silverliners. We are a tightly-knit team and we believe in operating on trust and transparency, celebrating one another, having the courage to challenge, and that we are better together. As a team, we can make a difference and have a greater impact on the world and community around us. We achieve this through the Silverline Cares program, our internal movement to help support the Pledge 1% initiative.

Q: Awesome, a fellow Pledge 1% organization! Could you share what the Pledge 1% initiative is and how Silverline gives back?

The Pledge 1% is a movement of corporate philanthropy where organizations commit to donating 1% of profits, 1% of product, and 1% of their time. Through this initiative, we are able to make a lasting impact on our local communities and nonprofits which is why we built the Silverline Cares program. This program connects people who care with causes that make a difference in the world around us. We incorporate volunteerism and philanthropy into our corporate culture all over the world, and partner with numerous nonprofit organizations to help provide educational training, mentorship, and support. One of the nonprofits we partner with, which I’m really proud to work with, is Project Sunshine.

Q: How does Silverline support Project Sunshine?

Project Sunshine’s mission, focused on providing support to pediatric patients and their families, deeply resonates with our organization. Because of our deep roots in the Healthcare Industry, we created a philanthropic program to join forces and engage with the cause. One example of how we support Project Sunshine is by creating children’s craft bags that are distributed and used at Pediatric Centers in hospitals. These craft bags create an outlet for children seeking creative expression during their hospital visits. Beyond creating smiles for children, craft bags provide needed distraction and help hospital staff build trust with young patients. This year, our employees will also join the Project Sunshine teams on-site in hospitals across the U.S. In addition, Silverline is also Project Sunshine’s trusted consulting partner.

Q: What an amazing way to dedicate your time. It seems like it may be challenging to engage with employees at a company of 350+ employees. How does Silverline encourage volunteerism?

We put giving back at the forefront of our business — including at the start of every Silverliners’s career journey. As soon as we onboard new employees, they are immersed in the Silverline culture, which includes the importance of volunteering and giving back. At each New Hire Orientation class, new hires pull up their sleeves and work together to pack 200+ craft bags for Project Sunshine. We also do this activity at all-hands meetings. Our employees are thrilled to give back to their local hospitals and we have fun doing it, so it creates a sense of community and enhances team bonding simultaneously.
