Hi everyone!
My name is Recep İnanç. I am the junior-est man in Twentify!

Eh, this did not sound as cool as Barry Allen’s but feels super cool to be able to say that. I’ll be explaining the word “Feyz” and the advantages of being a Junior in a Start-up.

What the Feyz is that ?!

First of all let me help you with this, the word “Feyz” is pronounced just like the way you pronounce “Phase” in English. Okay, now we can say it, but what did we all just say? Feyz is more than just a word, it is a concept, a culture.

Feyz is an abstract state that you get on when you learn something that makes you say “Wow!”. A lot people knows about a lot of things, but there are some certain subjects which you can spread Feyz all around, that will teach something someone in your “Feyz range”. Then that person who got the Feyz will spread his/her knowledge around and this will continue to complete a full circle, and the Feyz you shared today will someday find you in another form and will make you say “Wow!”.

Yeah, I learnt what Feyz is, what’s all to do with being a Junior ?

There’s a well-known saying “Ignorance is bliss!”. I believe this saying is working well as long as you’re hungry and willing to learn something new and get Feyzed, since there will be lots of things that you can learn and this is an huge opportunity and not a weakness.

The Hungry Junior

Let’s talk about how I feel about being a junior among the other great developers. For a junior being in such a great Start-up Company is just like being in a goldmine. Not just working, but also hanging out with experienced developers/team members is a — source of Feyz — way to develop myself in a solid and fast way. Almost every single second I spent, I learned something new, the project I’m working on is/was way bigger than my skills but it’s just like exercising, how hard you try to lift — without breaking an arm of course — the more your muscles grow. Getting used to the Product Management tools they’ve been using, the structure of the project they’ve been writing, the conventions they’ve been using, the approach that they have when they trying to solve a problem is all nothing but the — Feyz — gold for me. All week going to school, coming to the company, working on a side-project separately and the motivation that I get from the team I work with is the one that makes me more hungry no matter how much I ate all week. Not having responsibility as much as a Senior and always learning much more than them, isn’t that AWESOME !?

My advice to all other juniors like me, get all the Feyz you can get from them ‘till its last drop.

Live long and Get Feyzed.
