We are delighted to welcome Ermetika to SpecifiedBy — the UK’s leading building product research platform for Architects and specifiers.

We caught up with the Ermetika team to discuss how SpecifiedBy fits with their specification-led marketing strategy.

Ermetika are an Italian factory with 30 years’ experience in manufacturing pocket door systems for sliding doors.

Operating in 27 countries from North America to Russia, Europe, North Africa and the Middle East, Ermetika provides solutions to the construction market with counter frames fitted inside walls to gain additional space in any living area.

Their pocket sliding door kits are designed and tailored for any new build or retrofit project — available in various widths and heights, with accessories ranging from soft open/close options to electrical channels and fire rated options that guarantee the perfect glide.

Their products have been created for plasterboard application using timber or metal studs of various thicknesses.

The team at Ermetika consider the UK market as one of their most important, and one in which they see a big opportunity to grow.

Guillaume Plantet, Export Manager at Ermetika told us:

“Since the start of the pandemic, people who have been working from home, are really wanting to look at their home and see what other options are available to enjoy more living space and create a workspace. This is one the reasons we want to increase our visibility among UK architects and specifiers, ultimately leading to more specifications and more UK projects.”

But like many companies, they have seen their normal ‘go-to’ marketing channels disrupted by Covid and they have had to find new ways to reach their target audience.

“Pre-Covid we did a lot of networking events and trade shows. Due to the current situation we have not been able to use trade shows and events anymore, so we needed to find a valid alternative to get our products in front of the right people: Architects and Specifiers.”

This led Guillaume and the Ermetika team to SpecifiedBy, which has provided them with an instant increase in exposure and reach in the UK, by making their products available to over 65,000 architects and specifiers each month.

And as an added bonus, they are benefitting from visibility of who is interested in their products.

“We like how SpecifiedBy can provide us with named leads and a possibility to chat with specifiers that have actively looking for our products online. We see this as a benefits of moving into more online channels during lockdown.”
