Despite its significance, many individuals are unaware of climate change and the importance of being informed on the topic. In essence, it’s like our home is overheating from a furnace, and we have no control over it. The release of CO2 (Carbon dioxide), CH4(methane), and N2O (nitrous oxide)into the atmosphere from the use of heating systems and power tools over the years has caused harm for the future.

People did not consider the consequences of all the fuel burning since they lacked the necessary tools. While burning fuels is beneficial for the atmosphere, burning too much overheats the earth and disrupts the earth’s temperature regulation. Our atmosphere, which serves as our shield against the sun’s harsh rays, is thinning and the greenhouse gases in it are increasing.

CH4 (methane )is the second most commonly used gas and it remains in the atmosphere for at least 120 years, contributing to the earth’s warming. Methane emissions from livestock and other agricultural practices, land use, and waste decay in landfills also cause the earth to warm. This, in turn, disrupts ecosystems and leads to changes in animal behavior.

Large corporations like Shell and BP are major polluters, and while they continue to profit, developing countries suffer due to the lack of resources and infrastructure to mitigate the effects of climate change. They are more vulnerable to extreme weather events and health impacts like heat-related illnesses, while bearing a disproportionate share of the burden of climate change impacts. Global equity is a major issue that must be considered in international climate negotiations.
