Smart home tech has really changed how we use our homes. But, you know, using the usual apps or talking to voice assistants can still be a bit of a hassle.

That’s where BCIs come in.

Brain Computer Interfaces are like a cool tech bridge between your brain and devices, measuring your brainwaves. Some need surgery to put tiny devices in your head, while others just use sensors that are placed on top of the scalp.

Imagine controlling stuff with your thoughts! No buttons, no talking – just think about dimming the lights or turning on the TV, and bam, your home does it for you!

Even in the kitchen, BCIs can help out. You’re cooking, thinking about the oven temperature, and it happens.

And, BCIs aren’t just cool, they’re helpful. For people who can’t move much or have physical challenges, BCIs are pretty much like a superhero power. These individuals can control their home just by thinking, giving them more independence and an easier life.

Smart home of the future

Using BCIs in smart homes also makes things super easy. No more fiddling with buttons or saying things out loud. Just think, and your home listens. Saves time, saves effort.

But there’s also some challenges that we’re facing. Every person produces unique brain signals, which are difficult to measure clearly. BCIs could also be vulnerable to cyberattacks that expose brain data or interfere with the device’s function.
