I lead a small but passionate team of 70 people who have transformed a basic meditation timer into a community of 25 million people, 90,000 companies and 17,000 teachers. Today, more than 12,000 people sign up to Insight Timer every 24 hours.

The chart I’m most proud of is this one. It shows that when you focus on the user and their needs — especially in the wellbeing and mental health space — you don’t need to advertise.

Look closely or you’ll miss it. We are the straight green line running all the way along the very bottom of the chart. Zero percent of our 12,000 daily downloads come through advertising. Every person who arrives at Insight Timer each day arrives organically. This means we don’t pitch to them. We don’t dress ourselves up. And we don’t have to put on a happy face. They come as they are and we meet them there.

Everything our team has achieved in the last 8 years we’ve done without spending a cent on advertising. It might take longer this way but the benefits are profound. I’ll share more about these benefits soon. Stay tuned.
