Following almost two years of solid work, Insolar is ready to announce the public testing of Insolar MainNet 1.0 on September 30, 2019. A peer-review and code audit of the Insolar MainNet 1.0 is currently being carried out externally by a leading cybersecurity firm and internally by Insolar engineers. This is to ensure maximum security for the network and make sure our users are safe.
The end of the audit and relevant updates are expected to be complete by November 1, 2019.
Strengthening security with expert audit
Insolar Blockchain Platform’s code and the Insolar MainNet 1.0 are currently undergoing rigorous testing in-house by Insolar’s Quality Assurance engineers and externally by best-in-class cybersecurity experts at Kaspersky Lab. Kaspersky Lab is a globally renowned cybersecurity firm with over 20 years’ experience in creating specialized solutions and services to fight sophisticated digital threats. Following the tests conducted by Kaspersky Lab, the Insolar MainNet 1.0 will be open to the public for testing, with a bug bounty to be launched.
Public vulnerability testing
The opening of a public bug bounty to test the platform on September 30, 2019 will give users and professional security researchers all around the world the opportunity to test the network security and earn bounties for any vulnerabilities they find. Discussions over which bug bounty platform to use to test the network are ongoing, as we strive to find the most fitting forum that will connect Insolar with the very best penetration testers and cybersecurity researchers. All details about the conditions for taking part in the bug bounty will be announced in the coming weeks.
Following completion of the extensive Insolar Blockchain Platform and Insolar MainNet’s security audit on November 1, 2019, INS token holders will be able to start the migration of their holdings to the Insolar native coin — XNS. The XNS coin can be held in a native Insolar Wallet and all transactions will be visible in the newly designed Insolar Block Explorer. Both the Insolar Wallet and re-designed Insolar Block Explorer will be operational on November 1, 2019. Further details on the migration of ERC20 INS tokens to Insolar native XNS coins will be disclosed at the end of September. You can read the Insolar Economic Paper for information about how the XNS coin will be utilized in Insolar MainNet.
