October Monthly report

Insolar Team
Nov 1 · 5 min read

October has been no anomaly as far as the level of work undertaken by the Insolar team is concerned. This month saw us gearing up to MainNet launch, with the team working to the maximum to have everything ready for the launch of our public blockchain network. However, the decision to reschedule the release was taken in order to continue improvements on the already stable and secure network.

While the network meets all requirements and is secure and stable, we came to the conclusion that further testing, debugging and minor but varied improvements are required before the full public release of MainNet. The Insolar community will also benefit from the enhanced security of the network following the implementation of the feedback we received from Kaspersky Labs and other security experts. As such, we took the decision to reschedule the release until after the New Year.

In addition, we announced that we are to collaborate with two giants of IT — Oracle and Microsoft — along with several national innovation agencies. Our collaborations with these organizations create significant technical and market synergies for all parties, advancing the entire enterprise market and giving companies a streamlined way to access robust DLT solutions using Insolar’s innovative, cloud-based capabilities.

While the network meets all requirements and is secure and stable, we came to the conclusion that further testing, debugging and minor but varied improvements are required before the full public release of MainNet. Time for Pragmatism in Blockchain Adoption

Blockchain and distributed ledger technologies (DLT) are currently facing a hurdle in that business is so far unsure of how to implement and whether adoption is worthwhile. What if there were a more pragmatic approach to the implementation of DLT, one which did not require the overhaul of entire systems or deep integrations? To resolve this issue, Insolar has its come up with a pragmatic and phased, two-step implementation for blockchain.

Assured Ledger Technology: Reason to Record

Distributed ledger technologies such as blockchains are beginning to herald a new era for audibility and accountability through tamper-proof logging of data and recording those responsible for updating or changing data sets contained in ledgers. However, although blockchains track changes of an object state in a ledger, they do not guarantee that the reason the change was made will be logged.
