Now that you have registered and set up your User Hierarchy, it is time to move on and begin to set up your locations. This is just as easy as it was to set up users and is important because as you set up your location assets you’ll most likely want to tie them to a location whether this location is a park, school, facility or property.

The Location Hierarchy

Some organizations may want to establish a parent location or region. This is easily done and should be set up as it’s own individual location first. When you are setting up the additional locations, any location that will be a sub location to a parent location or region will be assigned during this step. This is one step that isn’t done under Setup but is rather done by clicking the Locations option on the sidebar menu. You’ll want to setup any Parent Locations first.

This will now open up your Location screen. You will simply add Locations by clicking on the Add New button at the top of this page.

Once you click the Add New button, it will open up the Location Setup screen. This should be pretty intuitive and quick depending on how many locations that you have. Simply fill out the cells as indicated. Remember that if you have Parent Locations or regions you will enter those first. Once they are entered, they will become available to assign as a Parent Location as you set up other Locations and should then be visible in the Parent Location drop down for selection as needed.

You’ll be able to add any notes pertaining to this location during this step as well and also can add documents to the Library during this stage if you would like. Don’t worry if you skip through the Notes and Library piece at this point though, as you can always come back to this same place by clicking Locations and then Edit and update as needed. Notes, could really be anything specific to this location that you would like to show up in the location dashboard. Library might include proposals, warranty information for equipment, renderings, owners manuals, really anything that may be important to reference at a later point. What a great resource for an organization! Once each location is entered, hit Save at the bottom of the screen and it will bring you back to the main Location screen.

The Location Dashboard

Once you have setup all of your locations, each location will generate it’s own Location dashboard which will be a great snapshot of all activity at each location going forward.

Great job. As you’ve seen, this is a very quick and easy step, but an important one for your organization.

Now that you have setup all of your locations, it is time to move onto Step 3 which will be setting up your Categories, Hazards, and Priorities. We will cover Step 3 in the next tutorial.
