Daily Price Increase Is Normal For Us
If the Americans think their tariff war and price increases are hell, they need to come to my country, where the competition means nothing.
Americans and other countries are worried about the surge in prices of almost everything, thanks to the tariff wars. In my country, the cost of everything increases daily. We need US dollars to buy goods that are traded daily, and the prices go up daily.
The rate today is US$ 157.97 to J$1. dollars
That means when the US dollar increases on the Stock market, these business owners have to pay more to buy it, so the cost for their goods goes up with the US dollar, and that price increase is passed on to us.
Imagine buying bread today for $600 and then returning to the bakery tomorrow to find that the price has increased.
Honest businesses don’t increase their prices until they have to pay more for new stock. The dishonest ones follow the market and increase their prices daily. They can get away with it because we have no price control and nothing in place to prevent this kind of dishonesty.
Most businesses do this. It seems normal to us, but we don’t have a choice.
