To Those Who Write Even When No One Is Reading

While I draw inspiration from famous writers who have shared their creative ideas with the world, this is a different kind of inspiration than seeing other writers who tell their story even if it seems like no one is listening.

This is why I actively go into the tags on Medium to search for fresh pieces that people have written under a certain topic, as they may not have been boosted by the algorithm. I read these because I admire the effort that writers go through to present their best foot forward, even if there’s no guarantee that the community will even read these pieces in the first place. There’s no positive reinforcement from others yet these writers take steps forward, believing that their story is still important.

I respect and admire that determination. I hope to hold the same kind of steadfast belief.

Some of the pieces that have most deeply resonated with others were not most viewed, most clapped, or most read. These stories might only apply to a small portion of the world, yet to that small portion of other people swimming through a sea of stories that do not represent them, these stories are everything.
