AI platform is the future: Choose the right AI rather than running away from it!

I love colors and recently I was experimenting with an AI image-creating software just out of curiosity. Since I love Teenage mutant ninja turtles, that is what I tried to prompt. The result was the image created above. Although a fun image, it made me compare it to the current AI generation.
Whereas Turtles, which are very much living creatures, are inherently slow, the right platform, which is the skateboard can leverage them in their speed. Much like what the AI platform offers right?
While AI applications are being farted around night and day, the power of Human-AI partnership for effective collaboration and innovation lies in choosing the right AI software. Choices made impact the partnership’s dynamics, with AI shaping the collaborative landscape. I always remember this funny quote,” Who’s your Daddy?” which I feel is very important while dealing with AI (you don’t have to be a machine learning engineer to think or implement that!). While the capabilities of machine learning are bedazzling, human creativity and empathy are equally essential. Considering factors like ethics and goal alignment is critical for the best outcomes.
The key lies in building use cases and choosing AI that complements strengths specific to your scenario enhancing decision-making processes and driving innovation.
Importance of Choosing Wisely
The power of choice is a wisdom that the Human brain has been gifted with. And each choice made by us deeply impacts our whole lives. Similarly, When caring while selecting AI platforms, profoundly impacts the dynamics and outcomes of how you use the AI.
The recent Google update which regulates the use of AI is the best example. While everyone’s bank accounts rejoiced while using conversational AI to create a bunch load of crap, all it took to nuke those flimsy empires was an update. So choose wisely!
Best outcomes stem from choosing AI that not only complements human strengths but also compensates for weaknesses, fostering a harmonious and productive human-AI partnership.
Human Qualities Vs. AI Capabilities
In technical terms, whatever AI is capable of is due to something called “machine learning algorithms” or “machine learning models”. These can be anything viz predictive analytics, speech recognition, image recognition, etc. Whatever it may be, the result is always directly proportional to the amount of data it is fed, and not to forget, the quality of data that is fed. Whereas this can automate tasks and provide valuable insights, the inherent regulatory nature of the human brain mixed with qualities like consciousness, emotions, and adaptability makes humans the driver, rather than the other way around.
Symbiotic Relationship With AI
Thirdly, it is very important to know the concept of symbiosis drawing the analogy from the biological world. AI development and AI models should always be led in a way that fosters a symbiotic relationship. However, in the current times, the lack of regulations makes it very dangerous and the balance may anytime tilt towards a predatory one. The fear of overtake of jobs, and losing reality are the best examples. And I won’t even deny them.
To harness the power of AI seems very exciting and everyone wants to choose the best. However one should always search for a balance where the relation is symbiotic, otherwise, even the best of AI solutions can prove to be a disaster for your personal use case.
Evaluating the right AI platform
I cannot stress enough and want to hardwire these three points while evaluating AI platforms for yourself:
1. Ethical implications,
2. Transparency measures, and
3. Alignment with organizational goals and values.
These might sound general, but in conjecture, these three points are needed for the scalability of any successful AI platform. So, anytime you consider an AI platform, stop, think, analyze, and repeat it at least 5 times thinking about future alignment in line with you or your organization.
Achieving Optimal Performance
Before diving in for an end-to-end AI platform, break your project into parts and try to see if AI can help in series or in parallel (much like the concepts of electricity). “Select the most optimal” rather than “select the best” should be your best tool guideline. For example, if you see the first picture here of the turtle race, and if you forget the last small turtle, you will see that the first turtle isn’t winning because of its size, it’s winning because of the optimal-sized skateboard. Similarly, the last turtle, despite losing, is on an optimal-sized skateboard for its size, considering he might have broken its shell if he had driven the first one’s skateboard.
