What is inspire100? This was the first question I asked myself when I heard that term. It surely sounds motivational, inspiring like the title itself, and something to die for.

But i was lucky enough to finally attend the Inspire100 inception meeting which took place from the 3rd to 6th of April in the Mkwawa Arts Space headquarters, Iringa.

I came to realize that “Inspire100” is a project aiming at helping young adolescent girls and women from 15–35 years of age with a business idea or a running business in cooperation with digital technology (WEB 2.0). This project will take place in Iringa region for a duration of one year under Sahara Ventures and Grand Challenge Canada in cooperation with Mkwawa Arts Space and independent contractors.

This project will be so constructive to the society starting with the targeted group and the community at large since the project is targeting 100 young women who will receive different training on how to generate their business ideas in relation to digital world (WEB 2.0) some of them might be teen mothers, PLHIV or married women.

The program will focus on key six areas:

  • Receiving the right SRHR information
    • Involvement of male counterparts (fathers, husbands, and brothers etc)
    • Access to SRHR youths friendly services
    • SRHR Knowledge
    • Entrepreneurship Skills
    • Digital Inclusion

Also, during those 4 days of the inception meeting, I was able to understand the project widely, understand each and every department, their functioning areas, and the staff visited possible potential stakeholders of the project which was so effective.
