Breathtaking.

Photographs that take your breath away.

--

Last month’s featured artist on the BreatheSync instagram feed was a great friend who I met in advertising at Saatchi & Saatchi a long time ago. Since moving to the desert in Darwin, California her creative work has blossomed and she now works across a range of mediums including sculpture, technology and photography. Her name is Judyth Greenburgh and I’m delighted that she agreed to share her wonderful photographs and this short interview on her approach.

Why did you agree to the collaboration?

I believe in using my art to make a creative difference in the world. I believe BreatheSync does that too — so it’s a perfect partnership.

How did you approach it?

I picked images of Nature that instill awe and leave us humble––that literally take your breath away … just for a moment then reminds us that there is something greater in the world than us.

How does your relationship with breathing affect your creative work?

When I have a camera in my hand, I drop down into myself, breathe more deeply and notice more. I slow down enough to see the details and the beauty there. What looks ordinary can be pretty extraordinary on closer inspection.

There’s beauty in everything.

It’s my meditation practice — the art of being here.

Do you have any favorite images that were featured and why?

I think I like the astro milky way shots the best. I am blessed to live where I do, and experience dark skies. I was happy to share that wonderment with you.

Any advice for budding photographers or creatives?

Love how light falls on things and you will never be short of things to take photos of.

Thank you Judyth for inspiring us to be more present and appreciate the wonders and beauty of the world around us, every day. If you are inspired to breathe the world better with words and images, please get in touch.
