As summer quickly approaches, many students become restless with excitement about the adventure summer holds. However, teachers know that for some students summer break can bring an inadequate food supply, lack of weekday care and socialization, and unsafe or non-enriching home environments. Despite this knowledge, teachers may find themselves feeling helpless to the situation or without the proper resources to support these students after they leave school. To assist teachers in their support efforts, we have created a free Teacher’s Guide to Ensuring Students’ Health, Safety, and Support This Summer, that is available for download to help teachers locate and share local resources with their students and their students’ families.

Knowledge is Power

The Teacher’s Guide to Ensuring Students’ Health, Safety, and Support This Summer will walk you through and provide links for you to locate local food, child care, safety, and enrichment resources for your students. The last page of the guide equips you with a printable or customizable template that you can fill out and share with your students’ parents. Helping to equip them with the resources they need to keep your students healthy, safe, and supported all summer long.
