Whether you use Google Drive, Google Classroom, or both, our Open Learning Platform allows you to integrate these tools together to enhance the student learning experience.
Teachers and students who use our Open Learning Platform can enjoy added integration with several Google functions and features.
- G-Suite: Once you input your Google credentials, you can access Google Classroom and Drive without having to sign in again. This Single-Sign-On Google Integration ensures it’s easy for you and your students to jump between McGraw Hill and Google platforms.
- Google Classroom: You can now create an assignment in our Open Learning Platform and then share a link to that assignment in Google Classroom. Once they have logged into their McGraw Hill program, students can then click on the shared link and launch the assignment in Open Learning.
- Google Drive: You and your students can now more easily attach all file types from Google Drive to assignments in Open Learning. In addition, teachers can create a worksheet template and then share individual instances of the document to specific students.
Crafting a More Accessible Experience
Teachers are often looking for one place to store and share documents, such as the gradebook, roster, and assignments. Students also don’t want to have to navigate into various platforms in order to access all the materials they need for a particular class. Our integration with Google Classroom will allow teachers and students to access all instructional resources through one click and sign-in into Google.
The integration with Google Drive also provides a great option for classrooms looking for fully web-based solutions, especially those who may not be able to easily download files to their devices.
This Integration is great if you have custom or external content in Google Drive that you’d like to share with your students. This content can then be accessed through their device in school, at home, or in a remote learning environment.
Encouraging Collaboration
Assigning collaborative and group work can become even easier as you can easily set the permissions on a document so it can be edited by students.
When creating or editing assignments, you also have the option to share them to Google Classroom on the Settings tab of the assignment.
This assignment will then appear in Google Classroom. When your students access the assignment from Google Classroom, they can quickly select the link and be taken directly to the assignment within Open Learning without having to log-in again.
Enabling Real-time Feedback
Making a Google Doc file editable can give students real-time feedback to students as they work. And because the documents live in Google Drive, you can make updates to distributed materials quickly without having to share out a new version to students.
