Educators are the ultimate innovators. Despite never-ending challenges in and beyond the classroom, you manage to capture students’ attention, empower them to master important concepts and skills, and even spark transformational, joyful learning moments. You merge your personal style and creativity with educational research to develop learning experiences that are effective and deeply impactful. Our Teach and Tell contest invites you to share how you do it.

We want to know: What unique teaching strategies, activities, or experiences have you developed that spark joy in your students?

Describe your best teaching strategy in the medium of your choice for a chance to win $500 for school supplies!

Here’s How the Teach and Tell Contest Works

Beginning 8:00 a.m. EST on June 3, 2024, and running through 5:00 p.m. EST July 31, 2024, share your story using the medium of your choice. You’ll be entered for a chance to win money for your classroom!

Two winners will be selected to receive a $500 gift card each to use on classroom supplies — an amount we’ve chosen based on the average cost teachers spend out of pocket on school supplies each year.

Here are some quick facts about the contest:

  • Who can enter: Any teacher, educator, or administrator currently working in an instructional or leadership role in PreK-12 education.
  • Type of Medium: Any type of Medium! Ideas: write a story, song, film a quick video, or create a piece of original art about how your students spark joy. Remember, the submission must not contain music, images, or artwork not created by you (even in the background)!
  • What you should do: Be creative! Your submission’s originality, quality, and innovation will count for a third of your score.
  • What you shouldn’t do: Please do not include students (or other minors), unlicensed third-party intellectual property (logos on clothing, in the background, textbooks, products, trademarks, music, artwork, photographs, or writing created by someone other than the entrant), or any information that violates someone’s privacy or the submission will be void.
