We recently hosted an art contest, where we asked educators to answer the question: how do your students inspire and empower you? We often consider the many ways that educators empower and support their students, but we know that teachers learn from their students, too. To answer this question, educators could submit a piece of artwork in any medium. The grand prize — a trip to ISTE 2018!

We were blown away by the talent, creativity, and enthusiasm in the submissions we received. It was difficult to chose only one winner and only a few finalists. But we’re thrilled with the final outcome! See below for the winning submission and the five finalist submissions. Congratulations, everyone!

The Winner:

By Heather Birmingham, Special Education Teacher @Bermingham140

Barry Elementary, Cortland Enlarged City School District, Cortland, NY

The Finalists:

By: Janine Campbell @campbellartsoup
By: Caroline Little, @MadameSTEM
By: Vera Edwards
By: Karen Bosch, @karlyb
By: Scott Hubeny, @180Dayz

Thank you to everyone who submitted to the Great Create Art Contest!
