What Would You Tell Your #YoungerTeacherSelf?
Enter Our Contest and Share Your Advice!
As the back-to-school season approaches, new teachers are moving into their classrooms for the very first time. They’re excited, they’re eager — but they’re also nervous!
To support them as they start this journey, we want to provide veteran educators with an opportunity to share their best advice for new teachers. If you’ve taught for more than one year, we invite you to reflect on the lessons you’ve learned over the years. If you could go back in time and give yourself advice during the last few days before your first day teaching, what would you say?
Once you’ve reflected on your answer, share it on Twitter using #YoungerTeacherSelf and you’ll enter to win our contest! Simply film a video of yourself giving advice (with no one else in the video) that’s under one minute. Then post it on Twitter using #YoungerTeacherSelf and tag @McGrawHillK12. The contest runs from August 1, 2019, to August 23, 2019.
One winner will be selected to receive a $500 gift card to use on classroom supplies — an amount we’ve chosen based on the average cost teachers spend out of pocket on school supplies each year. See official contest rules here.
Good luck, everyone! We’re excited to hear your best advice.
