Last week I got some people mad.

I wrote a piece that said a lot of writers should ignore the “tricks” to get more views and focus more on writing better. So when you get views, they actually want to read your writing a second time. Maybe even follow you.

Over 7000 claps and almost 100 comments later, a lot of people agreed. But a few got cranky. They protested that it comes down to “style.”

Sorry. No. Bad writing isn’t a style. It’s lack of skill.

Writing and typing are not the same. Much easier to learn typing than writing. You don’t develop style until you learn what bad writing is.

Good writing is subjective. Bad writing isn’t.
