Are we living in a round-up world?
Your profile page says you have 10 years of experience. But the truth is you have 9.1 years.
You round up your service price to $400 per hour even though $348 can help you exceed your revenue target nicely.
Your product rating on your website is 4.5 star but it actually is 4.4531.
Does it hurt anybody? — No, it doesn’t.
Does it help you? — Yes, it does.
So what’s the point talking about the round up? … because I think about being totally honest.
What if we put the exact numbers or even round them down.
Does it hurt anybody? — No, definitely not.
Does it hurt you? — Maybe. Maybe you don’t get called from clients who are looking for a 10+ year of experience freelancer.
Maybe you lose some additional money when you charge $340 instead of $400.
Maybe your customers turn to your competitors who put 4.6 rating on their websites.
Or maybe they can notice your honesty.
Maybe they just feel connected and inspired by what you do.
Maybe this is an opportunity for you to improve — to get the real 10 years of experience, to make everyone feel you really deserve that $400 hourly rate, to make your product a real 4.5 star.
You can choose — round up, the exact or round down … your choice.
Thinking and writing are the things I like. Sharing is what I love. Because of them, I write everyday to share stories from my thoughts and experiences, from the future I see and believe in. Everything I use to build Inthentic a better home. A home of people who want to do good things and give back. A home that is a small starting point of changes for a better society. I am proud of what I am doing. And even prouder to know that I am not doing it alone.
