Twelve Years Old
How do we define a genius? To me, the obvious answer is a combination of intelligence, talent, capability together with age.
You see an eight years old boy, who just finished high-school exam with perfect scores. That’s genius.
You see a twelve years old girl, who sings like a real divas on stage with powerful emotions. That’s genius.
You see a thirteen years old boy, who just built a prototype to challenge Alexa in the personal assistant world. That’s genius.
When somebody who is young can create new products, or solve interesting problems or show some unique talents, we easily admit that they are genius.
For us, they are the most outstanding, the most amazing and more importantly the most forgiving person.
They are not perfect yet. Their products, or shows still have some flaws. But nearly everybody doesn’t care. Because they are young and they can potentially be better. We are more ready to forgive them for making mistakes. They are the future of the world.
To compare this with the business world, genius doesn’t much relate to an age of a company or a founding team. To be genius, we normally rely only on our capability to create value and deliver.
We can be the most outstanding, and amazing company. But to be able to gain a privilege of being the most forgiving is a different thing. We are not that young. We are not innocent and cute anymore.
The only way to be forgiven is to create an undeniable and sky-high value to the users. What we are doing must be something that solves real problems a lot more efficiently than the existing solutions. Not just 2X but many people talk about 10X or more. That is the only thing that we can use as leverage.
Because it is that good, so I can ignore that it is sometimes slower than I expected.
Because it is that good, so we can live with the fact that sometimes the data is not 100% correct.
Because it is that good, so she is ready to give this product another chance to redeem itself.
Because it is that good, so we can gain an advantage of the most forgiving product. The big question is “Are we that good?”
Thinking and writing are the things I like. Sharing is what I love. Because of them, I write everyday to share stories from my thoughts and experiences, from the future I see and believe in. Everything I use to build Inthentic a better home. A home of people who want to do good things and give back. A home that is a small starting point of changes for a better society. I am proud of what I am doing. And even prouder to know that I am not doing it alone.
