Australia’s Stephanie Kyriacou Wins Her Second Ladies European Tour Title
Stephanie Kyriacou of Sydney, Australia, produced a bogey-free final round 67 at the Big Egg Open at Rosendaelsche Golf Club in the Netherlands to clinch her second European Tour title.
This is Kyriacou’s first win as a professional, having previously won the 2020 Geoff King Motors Australian Ladies Classic Bonville while still an amateur.
“I’m buzzing! I forgot what it was like to win, it has been a little bit of time,” stated Kyriacou.
“There was some great golf out there, Sanna [Nuutinen] played really well, and she holed some really long putts. It was pretty tight, and I was a bit nervous.”
“It is something pretty special (to have her father caddy for her). He has been there since day one.”
“He spent all his time and energy when I was little so to have him on the bag for a win is pretty special.
“All my friends stayed up to watch my score! I’m very grateful for the support team I have.”
The 20-year-old carded a 66, 72, and 65 in her first three rounds and then got off to a great start in round 4 with a birdie on the opening hole followed by back-to-back birdies on five and six, making the turn in 33.
After a string of nine pars, the LET Rookie of the Year nailed two birdies on 16 and 17. Her birdie on 17 put her back into the lead with one hole to play. After two wayward shots on 18, Kyriacou was able to make up and down to capture the title.
After the victory, Kyriacou stands in second place in the 2021 Race to Cosa del Sol standings with 845.58 points, just behind Nuutinen, who leads with 932.42 points.
