Global online gambling company, Betway, has partnered PSG.LGD, a professional DOTA 2 team which is a partnership between French football club Paris Saint-Germain and the Chinese eSports organization LGD Gaming. The six-figure deal will give Betway control over team branding, including players’ jerseys and jackets as well as provide the company access to players for content creation and social media activities.

“Having already had plenty of success with sponsorship in esports, we are very excited to have signed a new partnership with PSG.LGD,” stated Anthony Werkman, CEO at Betway.

“The PSG brand is incredibly strong around the world, and their involvement in esports has already been extremely successful, notably their more recent move into DOTA 2 with LGD. The PSG.LGD team has celebrated some early victories on the DOTA 2 circuit, and we can’t wait to be part of their future success.”

“Betway has always aimed to be at the forefront of the esports movement, and we look forward to partnering with yet another major player in the space.”

This collaboration is Betway’s newest foray into the eSports world as they already have a strong portfolio of eSports partnerships, including Ninjas in Pajamas (NIP) and Invictus Gaming. Betway also sponsors a variety of eSports tournaments such as ESL Pro League and ESL One`.

Additionally, PSG.LGD is only one of the many teams within PSG’s broader eSports organization. PSG eSports formed in 2016 and now has multiple teams competing across different games.

The partnership with Betway allows PSG to offer an international audience of fans even more exclusive content and give them the ability to engage with other members of the DOTA 2 community.

“We are pleased to welcome Betway to the Paris Saint-Germain family as a jersey partner of our esports team,” stated Sébastien Wasels, Managing Director of the Paris Saint-Germain Asia-Pacific. “The partnership between such a globally recognised brand and our Club is yet another sign of the international appeal of the Paris Saint-Germain brand.”

The partnership is set to kick off at The International, one of DOTA 2’s largest events of the summer which will take place in August in Shanghai.
