FaZe Clan & The NFL Partner For Draft Day Apparel

The National Football League and FaZe Clan have partnered to celebrate the first virtual NFL draft and Draft-A-Thon fundraiser by designing a capsule collection. The capsule will contain a t-shirt for $40 and a hoodie for $80. Each piece will feature FaZe Clan and NFL logos and branding for all NFL teams. The designs are inspired by football arcade games from the late nineties and early 2000s.The few essential items launched on April 23rd, the first day of the draft and are available on the NFL and FaZe Clan websites.

Although the NFL hired the gaming organization in 2019 to host a kickoff party featuring NBA All-Star Ben Simmons and rapper and FaZe Clan member Lil Yachty at which attendees received jerseys on which they could press on FaZe logos. The partnership is the first time the NFL has collaborated with a team outside their organization.

“The NFL and sports teams look to us to tap into our culture and show how FaZe Clan members interact with these sports,” stated FaZe Clan chief executive officer Lee Trink.

Additionally, FaZe Clan members who are quarantined together will host a watch party and capture content of the first round of the draft during the Draft-A-Thon. The raised funds support the following: the Salvation Army, the American Red Cross, United Way, Meals on Wheels American and Feeding America, and CDC Foundation’s All of Us: Combat Coronavirus Campaign.

“The NFL will be throwing to the guys to have some reaction shots,” stated Trink regarding the watch party. “We’re going to be involved with some of the draft picks. Not bringing video games into it, but bringing our gamers in to interact with the NFL.”
“We’re built for digital connectivity. The backbone of the whole community is being connected digitally. There’s impact on the business operationally, but we’re uniquely equipped to adapt to the challenges at a time like this. It’s not as challenging for us to take a few steps back from the scale of production. We’re providing our fans with some sense of continued normalcy. I think that actually provides some important relief for a lot of fans.”

FaZe Clan is uniquely positioned to bring individuals together during this time of separation. The NFL is looking to maintain some sense of normalcy in uncertain times. Bringing in FaZe Clan gamers to interact with the NFL takes the monotony out of a virtual draft.

The merchandise is scheduled to launch on FaZe Clan and the NFL Shop’s website at 3 PM Eastern time today. Additional donations can be made on the NFL’s website in support of COVID-19 relief efforts.
