French football team Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) announced a multi-year partnership with crypto.com. In addition to becoming the club’s official cryptocurrency platform partner, the fastest growing crypto exchange in the world will also release exclusive Non-Fungible Tokens (NFT’s) on its native NFT platform, crypto.com.

While the deal’s value has not been disclosed, it is understood that crypto.com will pay a ‘significant portion’ of the sponsorship fee using the cryptocurrency token CRO.

“With this partnership Paris Saint-Germain demonstrates once more its vision and leadership as a pioneer in areas such as lifestyle, esports and digital,” stated Marc Armstrong, PSG’s chief partnerships officer.
“It is an exciting time for cryptocurrency and we cannot wait to work with Crypto.com to bring new experiences to all of the club’s fans.”

Boasting over 10 million users worldwide in more than 30 countries, crypto.com is ranked as one of the top ten finance apps in both the App Store and Google Play. Additionally, the entity is the issuer of the most popular crypto card in the world.

PSG not only has unparalleled international appeal but also is home to some of the world’s top players, including Lionel Messi, Sergio Ramos, Nuno Mendes, and Achraf Hakimi. Thus, a partnership with the world’s leading crypto exchange seemed like a logical next step.

“Our mission since day one has been to accelerate the world’s transition to cryptocurrency. We do so by finding the best partners in the world, and Paris Saint-Germain is second to none,” stated Kris Marszalek, Crypto.com’s co-founder and chief executive.
“Between the brand visibility, stadium and team access, and collaborative development of NFTs, I have no doubt we’ll create new and exciting experiences for football fans around the world.”

To date, crypto.com has sports partnerships with Formula One and the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), which were signed over the summer for reportedly $100 million and $175 million, respectively.

The platform is also a technology and innovation partner of the organizing body for the top flight of Italian football, Lega Serie A and was the first to partner with an NHL team, the Montreal Canadiens.
