Pegasystems Signed On As An Official Worldwide Supplier Of The Ryder Cup
Pegasystems (Pega), a US-based software company, signed on as a worldwide supplier for the successive two Ryder Cups. Pega’s sponsorship begins at this September’s 43rd Ryder Cup at Whistling Straights in Wisconsin and then again at the 44th edition hosted at Marco Simone Golf and Country Club in Rome, Italy, in 2023.
“As Pega continues to push boundaries to meet our ambitious goals, we are seeking opportunities to increase awareness for our brand and the great work Pega is doing for our clients,” stated Hayden Stafford, President of Global Client Engagement, Pegasystems. “Given the prestige and excitement around the Ryder Cup, it is a natural fit for Pega to sponsor, as we continue to grow our business and help the world’s leading organizations achieve breakthrough outcomes.”
Per the terms of the agreement, Pega plans to showcase its enterprise solutions for those wanting to transform their businesses digitally. The entity will be vital to creating a superior experience for both players and fans. Pega is also set to work with the Ryder Cup broadcast partners to create content highlighting the significant value of partnerships.
“Pega is known for problem solving and delivering the right solutions to the world’s most sophisticated enterprises,” stated PGA of America CEO Seth Waugh. “At its core, the Ryder Cup is about turning challenge into opportunity which makes Pega a natural fit as a partner for our next two competitions.”
Guy Kinnings, European Ryder Cup Director added, “[w]e are delighted to welcome Pega to the Ryder Cup commercial family for the next two editions. The Ryder Cup is all about partnerships and teamwork, and we look forward to Pega’s innovation helping us to continue to deliver a first-class service for everyone involved in the biennial contest.”
Due to Covid-19, the decision was made to push back the competition by one year. Because of that, the Ryder Cup decided to add more sponsors. In February, The PGA of America signed an extensive agreement with Rolex that included an expanded presence at the Ryder Cup.
While the Swiss watch manufacturer has been the official timekeeper of Team Europe since 1995, the new deal now makes Rolex the official timekeeper of Team USA. Because of this, their Ryder Cup status is elevated to a worldwide partner.
Other worldwide partners include BMW, who signed a two-edition agreement in 2018 and professional services firm Aon who signed on for three editions in 2019. Energy brand BP is also listed on the Ryder Cup website (Rydercup.com) as a worldwide partner.
Pega joins four other brands at the worldwide supplier level: PepsiCo, which is committed through 2022 and is the official soft drink official sports drink, and official iced tea supplier. Toro is the official turf maintenance equipment and irrigation provider through 2029. Along with both UPS and indoor golf and entertainment platform AboutGolf, who signed on in 2018 and 2020, respectively.
