The Dallas Mavericks and owner Mark Cuban announced earlier this summer that the team had signed a three-year partnership deal with Lympo — a blockchain-powered health and wellness application.

This is the second blockchain-based company that Cuban has brought on to partner with the Mavericks. The first was 5Miles, which is currently the Mavericks’ game-jersey sponsor. Additionally, Mavs fans can purchase season or single-game tickets with cryptocurrencies through the 5Miles blockchain network.

“We’re lucky to partner with a locally based company that is innovative and growing exponentially,” Cuban said. “We’re also excited that the Mavs brand can now accept payment for single and season-tickets through their Cybermiles blockchain technology.”

Cuban decided to partner up with Lympo, as a way to motivate patrons to be healthier and to incentivize one’s fitness goals. Cuban expressed excitement because he feels he is bringing Mavs players and fans to the forefront of technological advances.

If an individual reaches his or her fitness goals, they will be rewarded a LYM token. LYM tokens can be used to purchase both tickets as well as merchandise after a certain amount is accumulated.

As part of this three-year deal, all Dallas Mavericks practice facilities will be renamed — and now will be known as the Lympo Training Facility and the Lympo Training Court. In addition, the Lympo logo will appear on the Mavericks practice jerseys.

“The Mavericks found clear alignment with Lympo’s mission to create a healthier world by using the latest technology to encourage fitness and healthy living in a whole new way,” Cuban said. “Through the platform, fans will be able to earn free tickets and merchandise by completing Mavericks fitness challenges on the Lympo app.”

The Mavericks will join the Sacramento Kings as one of the few teams in the league who will accept cryptocurrency for merchandise as well as tickets in the 2018–2019 NBA season.

“The Dallas Mavericks is a team with a strong vision,” Ada Jonuse, CEO of Lympo said. “Together, we will inspire people around the world to be healthier using the groundbreaking blockchain technology. Lympo is very proud to become the Mavericks’ partner for the team training facilities and the new Mavericks Fitness Team.”

The Mavs and Lympo will also partner to form the Mavericks Fitness Team which will consist of a group of ambassadors who will host various activities and fitness events for Mavericks fans throughout the season. There will also be a Mavs Fit Night, hosted by Lympo during a home game this upcoming season.
