The Washington Capitals And The Washington Wizards Partner With NBC Sports Washington And Monumental Sports Network To Produce Game Simulations
NBC Sports Washington is partnering with Take-Two’s Interactive NBA 2K20 and EA Sports’ to stream 20 one-hour game simulations following both the NBA’s Washington Wizards and the NHL’s Washington Capitals.
The games kicked off on Saturday, March 21st at 7 pm as the Wizards played the Bucks. The simulations included the same audio and video components of NBA 2K20 gameplay as well as contributions from NBC Washington’s Wizard experts.
The Capitals’ first game was on Tuesday, March 24th versus Saint Louis. Again, the simulation included commentary from NBC Washington Capitals announcers.
“We know that fans are as disappointed as we are to not be able to watch our favorite teams on a nightly basis. We hope that these fun and engaging video game simulations will entertain our fans and help provide a greater sense of normalcy during these challenging times” stated Zach Leonsis, Senior Vice President of Strategic Initiatives at Monumental Sports & Entertainment and General Manager of Monumental Sports Network. “We hope that when people tune in and watch these simulated games, they will be able to enjoy some friendly competitive play from the comforts of their own home.”
