Tiger Woods & Peyton Manning Versus Phil Mickelson & Tom Brady In COVID-19 Charity Match
According to CNN, a Tiger Woods/Phil Mickelson rematch is in negotiations. However, unlike the first pay-per-view dual, which took place in November of 2018, this time around Woods and Michelson will be joined by two NFL legends Peyton Manning and Tom Brady.
While the date and location of The Match are yet to be determined, we do know Woods will partner with Manning and Mickelson with Brady. The event is being made possible by both the PGA Tour and AT&T’s WarnerMedia (the parent company of CNN).
Spectators will not be allowed to attend the event. On the course will be the players and a small television production team who will all adhere to social distancing guidelines.
And, according to both sides, this Match will not air on pay-per-view. However, The Match will serve as a COVID-19 relief fund. The Match will air live on TNT, and social and digital content surrounding the event will be available on the Bleacher Report Live and House of Highlights.
To date, CNN reached out to all four athletes for comment while the PGA Tour declined to speak about the possible Match.
On March 16th, Mickelson did respond to a fan on Twitter regarding “The Match: Champions for Charity.”
