In April, Hong Kong was calling for the Web3 Festival and we participated in workshops and conferences in Europe. On the tech side, it was all about upgrading our products and setting Coretime for Integritee on Kusama. Want to know what else has happened? Don’t stay in the dark — scroll to discover more!

Business Updates

Web3 Festival in Hong Kong
The Web3 Festival, co-hosted by Wanxiang Blockchain Labs and HashKey Group, saw over 50,000 attendees in total, 300 speakers globally, 100 exhibitors, and nearly 200 side events. It’s widely acknowledged as a breaking milestone for Hong Kong’s Web3 industry.

Our CEO attended the Web3 Festival as part of a Polkadot delegation to represent the Polkadot ecosystem at the official Polkadot booth. From April 6 to 9, he connected with other projects, entrepreneurs, developers, and several members of the Integritee community.

The festival included interesting conferences, workshops, and side events highlighting the latest updates and developments in the industry. We also took the chance to spread the word around and allow people to learn about our products and services.

Insomni’hack conference
Insomni’hack is a security conference and hacking contest founded and organized by SCRT S.A. since 2008. From a very small contest in 2008, Insomni’hack has grown over the years to become one of the largest IT security events in Switzerland.

As Tech4Trust Accelerator participant, our CEO was invited to represent Integritee at the T4T Booth and also to share his journey as a founder on the panel ”𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗮 𝗖𝘆𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗘𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘂𝗿? 𝗠𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘆𝗲𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿”.

Tech4Trust Roadshow Zurich
The fifth Tech4Trust Roadshow in Zurich, hosted by PwC and Trust Valley, brought together cyber-professionals and corporate decision-makers to explore emerging technologies and strategies to build trust in society. As part of a panel, our CEO elaborated on how Integritee can provide benefits to increase cloud security.

Understanding Coretime and DEXs on Polkadot
Polkadot is taking a big step in its evolution by changing the ecosystem’s structure. Instead of slot auctions for parachains slots, there is now Coretime — it can be rented out, lent, borrowed, and shared. There are different ways to use this new method, and Integritee is already leveraging it. Read through our article Slot Auctions vs Coretime: What’s Changing for Polkadot Projects to understand what are the main differences between bidding in a candle auction and getting Coretime.

We have also published an article on DEXs on Polkadot. It highlights the main differences between decentralized exchanges built by projects within the ecosystem versus the ones outside. The number of DEXs is growing, and it’s important to understand the benefits and downsides of each.

Tech Updates

Release of the Integritee SDK v0.13.0
One new main release of the Integritee SDK was published last month. The changes from v0.12.12 to v0.13.0 contain:

Multi-Parentchain Support
The worker can now interact trustlessly with up to 3 L1 parentchains simultaneously. This enables building L2 use cases on top of any other substrate-based (para)chain without necessarily changing their runtimes.

This also allows you to use the Integritee Network for its TEE-specific pallets (like decentralized DCAP remote attestation of Intel SGX enclaves) but build your use case on top of a different (para)chain.

See our tutorial to learn more about this new feature. Please also check out our prototype Incognitee, which uses this new feature to enable private transfers of relaychain native tokens, as tested on Paseo Testnet.

SBliFF Finality
We have changed our Sidechain finality algorithm to SBliFF. This version of the SDK, does not support L1 finality yet. Forks can be detected, but not yet resolved with this release. Please stay tuned for the next release.

For all details, check our repository.

What’s Ahead

Incognitee
Get ready to battle-test our Incognitee Testnet in a series of user and testing campaigns taking place in the following weeks.

Polkadot Decoded
Polkadot Decoded 2024 is set to take place in Brussels, Belgium, on July 11–12th, combining both in-person and virtual experiences. This year’s edition of Polkadot’s international flagship event will serve as a festival celebrating all facets of Polkadot and Kusama. Attendees can expect a rich program featuring talks, panels, workshops, demos, fireside chats, and more. The program will be spread across five stages, a networking area, dedicated breakout rooms, and ecosystem showcase stations for ecosystem teams and builders to showcase their tech.

Tech updates
More features around our Attesteer, our Teeracle, and the privacy Sidechains will be released in the upcoming weeks.

About Integritee

Integritee is the most scalable, privacy-enabling network with a Parachain on Kusama and Polkadot. Our SDK solution combines the security and trust of Polkadot, the scalability of second-layer Sidechains, and the confidentiality of Trusted Execution Environments (TEE), special-purpose hardware based on Intel Software Guard Extensions (SGX) technology inside which computations run securely, confidentially, and verifiably.
